Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native who was born in Houston on the 17th of April, 1972. William John Garner is her father. He worked as chemical engineer for Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local school. To follow her father, she completed a chemical engineering degree. But because she wanted to fulfill her ambition of becoming actress, she relocating in New York to try her chance in the movie industry. She worked as a chef in the restaurant in New York, and was a part of Broadway productions. Her first husband Scott Foley met her on the TV show "Felicity," where she appeared as a character. Her breakthrough came in the action film "Alias." Her first leading role was the widely praised love story "13 Going on 30." The film starred her as an teen who was trapped in the body of a 30-year-old. Garner chose Gary Winick to direct the film; they continued to look for other films together up until the time of his death in 2011. Garner earned the honorary title of the artist ambassador in 2009 by Save the Children U.S.A. Role includes national literacy promotion, nutrition, early education and different aspects. In 2014, Garner has been a part of the board of trustees for this organization, pushing for early childhood education.
