Her birthplace was Roswell on March 29, 1985. Her name was Gerina Mendoza. Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). She is of Mexican-American heritage as well as an American by the nationality. Her desire to play sports began as a small toddler. Gerina started playing golf when she was just 15 years old. Gerina was a student at Goddard High School for her higher education in high school. She won the New Mexico State Golf Tournament at the age of high school. A volleyball player, she participated in state championships. She attended in the University of Texas in 2003. While in her senior years, she won each tournament which she participated in. During undergraduate studies she was awarded the title as Conference USA Female Athlete and Conference USA Individual Player of the Years.
